Macetown: December 17, 2022

The initial plan was for a club BBQ at the Lake Hayes Reserve followed by the annual summer trip into Macetown. The weather leading up to the trip didn’t play ball so the BBQ and the 2-day trip option were cancelled but the 1-day trip went ahead.

After meeting at the Chinese Village, Arrowtown, 14 of us in 8 trucks headed off. Dave (Trip Leader) in his Landcruiser, David, Katrina with Anaia and Erica (Pajero), Murray, Tabby and Matt (Defender), Keith and Susan (Pajero Sport), Bert and Manu (Range Rover), John (Blue Hilux), Kerrin and Kirsty (Pathfinder) and Johnny (White Hilux) .

A great trip with plenty of Lupins on display and water levels pretty low.

After the traditional stop at Scoles tunnel we made our way through to Macetown using the lower track with a lot of water crossings and a hill climb to add a bit of variety.

Despite the miserable forecast we had good weather for the trip and luckily Keith brought the new club BBQ with him so we enjoyed a classic Kiwi BBQ with plenty of sausages and onions for everyone!

Another enjoyable day for everyone. Thanks again Dave and Keith.
